Professor oak moved in with his usual snack, A ruben on toasted Rye, and a glass of Jack & Coke, and sat down in his favorite chair, placing the food on a small table besides his chair. The commercial ended, and the TV began to blare: "Tonight on Jerry Springer! Midgets and the Husbands they hate!"
Professor Oak sighed, putting up the footrest. another Rerun, still, it wasn't like he had anything better to do tonight. Suddenly, a small buzz of snow flared across, and it was an emergency news report. The reporter was dishevled, her blonde hair barely ombed, falling in her face. "Attention," She said, and sounded somewhat out of breath too. "Government officials have recently recieved a threat from team rocket, claiming to have a biological weapon that will, as they put it, 'change the face of the earth.'" She looked up from the stack of papers, and brushed the hair from her face as she stared into the camera. "Officials advise everyone to stay indoors until further notice, and immidiately report any suspicious activity to the authorities..."
Several weeks later, the earth has a very changed face indeed. Shortly after the threat, people all over Kanto, as well as Pokemon, began to develop symptoms very similar to a severe Flu. Over the course of seven hours after the first symptoms, they would become steadily worse, until slow, painful transitions began to occur, mutating the human until he or she developed pokemon-like characteristics. It was later learned that pokemon were intended to be simple carriers for the virus, and left unaffected by it, but pokemon exposed to a human during the changing process became vulnerable to the changes themself, but only for the course of the actual changes in the humans are the pokemon in danger.
In this story, we start out, be us pokemon, morph, person, or trainer. We all live, or are visiting the fine city of Vermillion, after the virus has passed, and the number of changes are declining, and for our own reasons, be they friendship, common goals, or random descisions, set out on our own goals, be they to become a master trainer, breeder, gym leader, doctor, to destroy, or to join team rocket, anything.
Before we begin, just letting you know that legendaries are fine, but you don't have a legendary ammount of power, to keep it fair. Plus, you need an explanation as to how a legendary pokemon passed you the virus. Ditto is restricted.
