In a stunning upset, Microsoft has been reported to sell 2 million units in America during the holiday season.

Do not be disheartened by the way, Nintendo Wii was hot on Xbox 360's heels as it managed to shift 2.8 million units, despite limited availability. Not bad for a Nintendo console, eh?

SONANSU!

The PS3 on the other hand sold 750,000 units in the US due both to a lack of units and a decrease in demand. Reportedly it was found that PS3s were repeatedly available at retailers whilst Wii was sold out (this mean in street terms that PS3's decrease in demand meant that no-one was going for it, rather they were trying to get a Wii - which was repeatedly sold out).

In other news Sony's methods of imitation are apparently running over into the next generation too, as they reportedly filed a patent (or something similar) for the Playstation 4, which is set to have a device sounding very similar to the Wii's Remote.

The price of the PS3 on eBay has also dropped closer to the Suggested Retail Price. On the other hand Wii continues to sell for over double the SRP. Eyes peeled people.

More accurate sales data will be available as we continue into the new year.
Generally you're meant to link back to the article so we can check credibility and what not.
darn sony, see, always copying nintendo!
whats they're problem!
omg! this makes me so angry, get your own ideas! but anyway they will not probably have a PS4, hehe.......go Wii! keep on selling!
Calm down. It's not like you can patent any ideas for consoles since it's the same basic crap anyway. Probably the only difference in the last 10 years has been the Nintendo Wii and it will probably remain like that for the next five years.
Yeah, personally I'm extremely happy to see Nintendo coming out on top this time.

Even with worse graphics >3
Well, the DS has good graphics for a handheld. Really, I don't mind, as all companies are made to rip you off. It's jusst which rip off is better that matters. It costs $10 to make a DS. So they are getting 14x profit...
Ok, i'm lazy.

IGN was the one who found out the info about sales, I got the information about the PS4 in my monthly magazine.
What the?!?!, no, that info from ign is mostly wrong, this is what ign "actually" said!
Quote:US, January 2, 2007 - According to preliminary NPD data, the Xbox 360 was the best-selling console during the holiday season in the U.S. CNBC is reporting that Americans picked up two million units of Microsoft's system during the period.

But Nintendo was not far behind. In spite of limited availability, the Wii sold 1.8 million units from its launch until December 25. Sony only moved approximately 750,000 units of the PlayStation 3, due to manufacturing problems and decreased demand. Over the holidays, IGN repeatedly found PS3s available at retailers while no Wiis were in sight. The price of a PS3 on eBay has also dropped to around its MSRP, while the Wii is still selling for over twice its retail price.

NPD expects to release complete sales data for the holiday season later this month
wii did poor to the 360.....aww...
Well that's hardly a surprise...

I mean, this is Nintendo, who is only just getting started, really. Yes, they have been around, but they were never noticed...

Microsoft, on the other hand, is owned by therichest man in the world, so when it needs some more cash, he can buy even more shares... Really, until Bill Gates sells up, (which I doubt) or passes it on, (long time) then Microsoft'll always have the advantage...

Excuse me, but what?
Nintendo has always been the leader in handheld videogames, and during many generatios was the top choice. Like how Super Nintendo had worst graphics than Sega Saturn, but sold thrice more, and when Nintendo 64 was on top with PSOne.

Your afirmation made no sense.
