In a stunning upset, Microsoft has been reported to sell 2 million units in America during the holiday season.
Do not be disheartened by the way, Nintendo Wii was hot on Xbox 360's heels as it managed to shift 2.8 million units, despite limited availability. Not bad for a Nintendo console, eh?
SONANSU!
The PS3 on the other hand sold 750,000 units in the US due both to a lack of units and a decrease in demand. Reportedly it was found that PS3s were repeatedly available at retailers whilst Wii was sold out (this mean in street terms that PS3's decrease in demand meant that no-one was going for it, rather they were trying to get a Wii - which was repeatedly sold out).
In other news Sony's methods of imitation are apparently running over into the next generation too, as they reportedly filed a patent (or something similar) for the Playstation 4, which is set to have a device sounding very similar to the Wii's Remote.
The price of the PS3 on eBay has also dropped closer to the Suggested Retail Price. On the other hand Wii continues to sell for over double the SRP. Eyes peeled people.
More accurate sales data will be available as we continue into the new year.
