Chapter 1
Neil was lying in bed dreaming of all his ideas and thoughts he loved to play with. Neil had a very unique creativity going on in his head but he didn’t share it with anyone as for he knew only a few people since he was very poor. The only guardian he had was Mr. Lusern witch had adopted him at age five because no one was left of his family the Zykiles Since all his family died in a Huricane at a family renuion , Neil only survived by staying at a daycare since the did not want to take him at a young age. Neil had always used his real last name for he disliked the thought of begging the son of Mr. Lusern, the man was very cruel and mean ever since he could rember. Some people say he gave up happiness since someone murderd his wife. He had only adopted Neil for doing chores for money and for company even if it seemed he didn't want it.
Neil awoke from water hitting his face.
“I hate this crippled old house. The roof always leaks when it rains and the cold wind comes through ever little crack giving shivers up your spine.”
The house he was talking about was a small on on a hill in an old and minipopulated town. The walls were made of mud and wood and the roof of tin and not floor covering but dirt. Neil lived up in the attic were spiders and other insects cam to live. He stretched for a moment and walked to the wall to open a secret compartment which he kept his drawing of all the creatures he imagined and all the places he had put them in. Every step he took he tried really hard not to make it creak but the more he tried the squeaks kept coming. He reached the walla nd quitly pulled out the box with jittery fingers. These drawings were his only friends and he kept drawing them when ever he was board or had free time. The drawing on the paper was very artistic for just pencil he drew with shadings and many signs of detail. For a second Neil heard something like it was climbing up the stairs so as a reaction he quickly put up the papers and headed back to bed. Last time Mr. Lustern found his drawings he ripped them up and through them into a fire. Just as he got under his blanket an old man about five foot six with a robe on entered the room.
“Get up you varmint, there’s a leak in my room and I need you to fix it. Now get dresses and get up on that roof in the rain and fix that leak!”
The old man was coughing after yelling for awhile. Neil got up and face the man and answered “Yes Mr. Lusern, I’ll get right on it.”
