"Okay dear, remeber to be careful and when you win the pokemon championship come home," her mom replied.
"Okay mom. Bye."
Sophie ran down the path. She knew that if she was first there, she got to pick the first pokemon. She charged into Prof. Oak's lab and asked "Am I the first person here?"
"Yes, and you're a very noisy first person too," replied Prof. Oak.
"Sorry, please can I have a Charmander, I love fire pokemon."
"Yes you can, are you going to catch just fire pokemon then?"
"No, I'm going to catch all sorts of pokemon and raise them all equily so I can beat all the gym leaders."

Just then, a boy with spikey black hair with yellow streaks came running in.
"Are there a Squrtle left?" he shouted at Sophie.
"Yeah, but you don't have to shout," Sophie answered.
"Sorry, my name's Mark. What's yours?"
"Mine's Sophie. I've got to get started on my journey now, later."
"Wait. Can I join you? I'm just going to get a Squirtle."Mark asked.
"Hurry up then." replied Sophie. When Mark got his Squirtle, they set off. They decided to stop in Viridain forest to see if they could level up their pokemon and mayby even catch a grass type to use against the Pewter gym leader.
