I've got a town here! It sucks and please ANYONE crit for it. But Pochama, it's really for your game. Here:

Better than I could do, but there are things that need improvement. For one, the beach and the water, well, even in the games there is a connecting tile so it doesn't look like two square stuck together. You know what I mean? There also should be a road going around the city.

Uhh, where to start...
It's really spread out, try to bring the buildings closer together,
Isay you should separate the poke center and the mart
Put a road (path) going thru it
vary the buildings
Maybe add more people
and as Darkphantom02 said, transitional tile between water and land

Yeah border around the water making it look real and kinda stick things together.
And also can you make trees going around and leave some out so there is paths.
Umm, yeah. I haven't got a clue where to find some path... Like indevidually. I think i need an indevidual sprite for the path.
Yes, the towns need to be smaller (much smaller) I mean, Pochama the first town has 2 houses and it takes up the entire screen, what you need ot do is make a small town and either fill the outside space with black or water or alot of trees like on the games.
I could help you with the mapping if you want, pochama. I'm only able to do it on paint, though.
Yeah i only do mine on paint too. I wish i could do better towns though... I gues i could help on scratch pokemon.
Okay I am tottally restarting the game which is pushing back the demo to mid May... sorry.
Okay I am not making the towns anymore would someone like to make the first town?
Than I will give a list of the routes and other towns later.
It is gonna be much easier this way.
