We all know what a Sprite Shop is! What's this? You dont?! Simply, when a spriter wants to do requests for people, simply out of boredom, for fun, or practice. They start a thread and the first post will contain their sprite examples and their little rules for their request shop and such. So yeah, that's what it is. This thread is for both those looking to request sprites AND for those who have/started/are starting a Sprite Request Shop.

Sprite Shopping
Looking for a certain sprite that you can;t find in the video games? Have an idea for a new pokemon or pokemon mixed? Most sprite shops can do these basic sprite techniques:

Recolors: A Recolor is the simplest sprite type. The Sprite makes the colors of a sprite a different color that you request. (ex. blue-->red)
Example: [Image: electrikemudkipswap.png]
(Electrike with Mudkip's colors, Mudkip with Electrike's colors)

Fusions: A bit more difficult. this is when a Sprite is fused/mixed with another sprite to create something new. (ex. Pichu fused with elekid)
Example: [Image: bonslymunchlax.png]
(Munchlax fused with Bonsly)

More difficult techniques:

Custom Trainers: This is when a trainer sprite is editted, sometimes recolored and fused with other parts of sprites to fit the description of the requester. (ex. A Boy wearing an "Ash" hat with "Gary"'s clothes)
Example: [Image: beau.png]
(Custom Trainer)

Retypes/type Changes: This requires knowledge of both recoloring and fusing. this is when a sprite is maipulated in both ways (usually) to change its elemental type (ex. Pikachu from electric to ground)
Example: [Image: firesceptile.png]
(Grass Sceptile changed to Fire Sceptile)

So, now that you get an idea of what you can request, let's move on to rules.
-Follow all rules that the Shopkeeper has laid out
-Follow all basic MMC Forum Rules
-DO NOT request the same thing in two shops, it works everyone's butt off for nothing.
-If you request something, please use it, in your sig for a few days for example AT LEAST. I don't want the spriters to work so hard for nothing, unless they don't care.
-Don't bug them to finish, they have lives off the computer
-Give Constructive critattism, not just saying "Your sprites suck!"
-Please don't argue with the shopkeepers, unless you think they are being unfair or ridiculous. If that's the case, Private Message me, the Moderator of this area, and I will settle the problem.

Sprite Shopkeeping
-You may use any spriting ideas of yours you wish as long as it's not ripping off someone else's, or inappropriate
-If you made the sprite simply by using photoshop/Gimp and changing colors, don't go around acting like it took you forever to sprite if you didn't do it.
-Be considerate to your customers and try to do all their requests and acknoledge them when they post. If you're busy or cannot do someone's request, be sure to post saying so politely.
-I will only allow ONE sprite shop per member! Adoption centers and such do count, so merge them with your sprite shop or vise versa!
-Please don't argue with the shoppers, unless you think they are being unfair or ridiculous. If that's the case, Private Message me, the Moderator of this area, and I will settle the problem.
It's...an okay guide. It's spelt criticism. It'd help a lot if you gave examples of the kinds of problems. You realize you forgot a major rule, right? Well, two.

1) Give credit.
2) Don't get mad if your request isn't done. Or if it's denied.
That pretty much goes along with Follow all rules laid out by Shopkeeper.
-I will only allow ONE sprite shop per member! Adoption centers and such do count, so merge them with your sprite shop or vise versa!

Does 1 shared shop (like the one I'm in) count as 1 of my shops? Or could I make another?

Sorry to answer but I'm sure that means you should only be staff at one sprite shop. And in fairness, it prevents confusion, enables people to actually get work at sprite shops rather than having about 5 people hog spaces AND it saves you confusion and a lot of work.
These are pretty good guidelines actually. but maybe you should try and add a few more advanced techniques, so that people who are pretty talented spriters can give it a try, and so people will be able to get them, you know what I mean?
