Hello class! Today we will be making this > [Image: 5.png]

1) Run a Plasma Filter (Fliters > Renders > Clouds > Plasma) to the setting of your choice.
2) Copy Visible > Paste and use a Gassian Blur (Fliters > Blur > Gaussian Blur), default settings.
3) Pick it (Fliters > Noise > Pick) with these settings:
Randomize > Ticked
Randomization > 50%
Repeat > 35
4) Gaussian Blur with default settings again.
You should have something like this : [Image: 1.png]

5) Set Floating Layer to Screen and anchor it.
6) Copy Visible > Paste and Mosaic (Fliters > Distorts > Mosaic) with default settings.
7) Set layer mode to overlay on 20% Opacity.
You should have something like this : [Image: 3.png]


8) Anchor your layer.
9) Edit > Copy Visible > Paste and Oilify (Fliters > Artistic > Oilify) with a 9 Mask size.
10) Set to overlay and anchor it.
You should have something like this : [Image: 2.png]


11) Colorize to a colour similar of that of your render.
12) Paste your render.
13) Alpha to Selection and feather it by 25.0 pxls and ctrl > i (Invert Selection) and Edit > Clear.
14) Colourize your render layer so it blends even more.
You should have something like this : [Image: 4.png]

15) Add Text, border and anything else you would like to add.

Nice tutorial for new users to learn, but I don't really like the outcome that much. Also, you should be more specific about functions like anchor, oilfy, etc, because a lot of new users don't understand that language.

Great tut Heart3 I am trying to learn more about using the GIMP, so I appreciate anyone who's willing to make something for gfx newbs like myself ;D
I used it, and it was really helpful. It helped me understand GIMP better, so I could experiment more.
