Hi all!
I did get permission to do this (if anyone was wondering), although it was in April (hopefully that permission will still count for something, if not this can just be deleted *cringes*).
I noticed in the Unown Writings there are a lot of threads that have no replies to them so I've decided to create this thread as a way for people to share their ideas for a fic and receive feedback on it before they post it. It will also allow people to express interest in a fic before it's posted, kinda like they're getting a preview.
Anyways, I hope people find this useful.
As promised, I will sticky. So let's start discussing ideas!
Ok, I was thinking of starting a fic, people of MMC being in it [xP rip off of Irish's work I know, but there is a twist]. Each character will be known by the 'fav pokemon' part of their profile.
Not everyone will be in it if it works, but important members off the top of my head that will be:
Paul
Doctor
Beau
Pika
Hunk
Pome
Shuri
me *shot*
Irish
TFI
JB
Kev
TFO
Thats all I got so far.
But from that, does it seem like a good idea?
Stealing from my story, no me gusta. But if you must, I'd like to be a Hitmonchan.
I wish we had a Team RPG...
Trufully Irish, its something to pass the time, I need something to keep my mind off of things right now...and that will hopefully work.
I think it's a good idea, even if they are similar, there will probably be different characters and they will be portrayed differently too so it will make your fic different from Irish's (if I say different once more shoot me).
My only question really is how much can you tell about someone from their favourite Pokémon?

I think it would be a good idea to get one member from each team to write a fic version of the goings-on for their team. The only problem with that would be the whole thing of Team Magma/Aqua/Galactic members not seeing what's going on with Team Rocket and such.
Well I presume he will only put the people he knows the best/is friends with in it, so he should have an understand of how they will act.
Example:
Shuri-Kun = Marshtomp
(Hyper, slightly nonsensical, and doesn't speak in complete sentences)
I didn't really follow your example very well - the section in brackets, are you referring to Shuri, Marshtomp or both?
There is also the possibility that a person's behaviour may be very different to the typical behaviours of the Pokémon he or she has chosen as their favourite.
Unfortunately, I do not have a good example of that as all the Behaviour sections in a Pokémon's Bulbapedia article are empty (there used to be something there for a lot of them, such as Furret, but now there's not).
To be honest though, I don't see the personality match-up as being too big a problem, I just felt it was worth raising all possible issues regarding doing characters in this way.

Seems good, but maybe too similar to I's story, but he said it was ok.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve my story (steelTrio's short story, look for it a couple pages back in Unknown writings)
I don't want to add plot, but is there any areas that need beefing up?
Or ideas for a sequel?

I don't mean to be picky but this thread was made to discuss fics before they are posted, not to get help on a fic that has already been posted and, might I say, already well-received. I may ask for permission to make a thread where people can request readers or something to give them feedback on a fic they have previously written.
I'm not going to disregard your request, I will PM my suggestions to you. If anyone else wishes to help -FroZen- then please either PM him or post in his thread, but don't post them here as this is not what this thread is here for.
In saying that, however, you can discuss ideas for a sequel here if you wish, which is why this thread is here.
And, with that, let me finish by saying that after reading the comments about your story, you said that
"Bob wouldn't be good in a sequel" and, in all honesty, I think a sequel would spoil the impact of the first one (while it may still be funny, it might just become silly and people may not appreciate it the same).
