Two things to say here. Firstly, in Pokemon chat there are two "important" threads that have been locked because they got old and revived. Call me a naive newb, but I thought that the whole point of marking a thread as "important" was so that it stayed at the top of the list and didn't become old. If it's just going to be locked and left, shouldn't it become a regular thread or just deleted?

And secondly, the amount of locked threads on this forum is actually quite intimidating. I realize that there has been a problem with n00bs as of late, but because MMC isn't a very active forum per say, but if you check the dates on most threads and don't post in the ones almost a month old, then that leaves very little in the way of threads that you can post in.

That is just my newb opinion. Feel free to ignore it or smash holes in it. Toungue

Well, most of the news threads or stickied threads [important thread] are locked because the staff doesn't want people to post in them, just so people read it. other things like the MMC talent contest 2007 are locked because they arent needed anymore.

Well, yes, there has been a lot of spamming lately. [Darkraishadow *cough*cough*]. but many people are reviving threads. which is annoying. and just because a site isn't always active, doesn't mean it doesn't need rules.

Just because your a newb doesn't mean your opinion doesn't matter. thats a n00b.=]
I'm not talking about rule threads, actually it's the "Daily Spam Pokemon Style" thread that I'm mainly referring to.

I'm not saying MMC doesn't need rules, but you have to admit there is almost as many locked threads as there are active ones. Maybe there is a point in the middle that could be met.

I'm a newb, which means I don't know this forum so well, so I have to be careful about the way I address these things.
You're not a newb. Look at the member list, and look at the posts.
if someone has been here less than a month, they are a newb. little just turns out to be one of the better ones.

well, there is almost always a reason for a locked thread. the staff just doesn't go up to a post and go "OMG i don like u so lokkies!!!11 lolz!!!!!!!"
The Daily Spam: PokeStyle was locked because it was the old version of the New Daily Spam, which is the old version of the (current) New(er) Daily Spam. When they get up to so many thousands of pages, they become glitchy; this one is already glitchy.
Page 19 of 175 in descending post order woot!

Yeah, I've been here less than a week, so I call myself a newb no matter what anyone says. Toungue

Peter: They become glitchy. That's interesting.
good. you have lisense to do that. so do i. newb.newb.newb.n00b JK. but, lets get on topic, shall we?

well, again, there are reasons for lockes.
I think we need more active threads. Maybe even still if there a tiny bit SPAMy. As long as people get joy from replying to them.
If you've got any ideas, you can make threads. The mods lock threads if there's already a thread related to it, there's no point, it's pure spam, or if it's against the rules.
