Basically what the tittle says. What is your favorite anime/manga and how/why did you get hooked on it?
My favorite is Naruto (obviously) and I didn't start watching it because most of my friends were fans but because I was bored one day and there was a Naruto marathon on Cartoon Network. I sat in front of the TV the whole day, captured by the wonderfull artwork and the awesome plot. I think I was ten at the time.
So what's your story?
Naruto: I it's American premiere and thought it was strange. I watched on Toonami for a long time afterwards and started to like it. ( I was a MAJOR Rock Lee fan. I know. I'll never be able to run for political office.) One day when Itachi finally showed up in one of the episodes I was instantly amazed. Itachi is my favorite to this day, even though he's dead.( Yes, I finally figured out that Japanese episodes went a lot farther and I watched them until I heard about how far the manga was. It took awhile, but I got caught up on the manga.)
Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z: Ever since I read the first manga I was amazed. An very interesting story. Very different. I watched every episode and read all the manga and was depressed when it ended. But then Dragon Ball Z comes along and it's even more interesting. Reveals lots of the secrets of Dragon Ball. Characters are older, Krillin is a midget there are lots of new characters, and Super Saiyan! The Kamehameha Wave was so powerful, now it's losing it's glamor.=\ owned by Final Flash But the highlight of DBZ is surely Vegeta!=P
The only real Anime I watched and liked enough to say I am addicted to would have to be the .hack// series.
To this day I still find myself re-watching .hack//SIGN when I get the chance...I have it on DVD :3
But what it was that caught my attention was the fact that before I heard about the show, I had an idea of a RP/Fic, of a kid who gets trapped in a game and ends up going through trials and whatnot...which is sort of what happens in .hack//SIGN, and then in .hack//Roots, I just liked watching the show by then...and its a good story line ;3
Um...this thread is basically the same as the Top Ten Anime/Manga list because you have to explain there too.
Sorry.
