Ok, so I am working on learning how to draw people, but...not like Japanese/Manga/Anime/w.e it is called, I mean like...just cartoony.

I want to learn because we have this thing...and well its hard to explain, but I thought learning would be cool....

So yeah, is there any real big tips or tuts anyone has that helps you draw cartoon people.

Oh and, its on the computer, like GIMP. Toungue
Look sorry for the double post, but I mean CMON.

No replies? I am simply asking for advice. Someone give me something. Sorry, again, for thedouble post. But I'd rather post another POST, instead of like soem nubs who post anotehr thread.
Drawing people? =/

I'd lurk around DA, if I were you. I have no experience whatsoever in drawing, and I don't know anyone at MMC that does the kind of thing you're looking for.
Anyone with drawing experience, could give advice though.

And yeah, I have been...but nothing like what I am looking for ><
Well, Do you have problems with the shape, or you just cant draw a straight line? What i usually do to draw people is start with an oval head, and make the face. Then, for the body, i make another oval. Then i make the sleeves, which are just like Rectangles that are being overlaped by an oval. The arms are, well, just smaller rectangles coming out of the bigger ones. For legs/pants, i make a tryangle, that kinda looks like a dress, and make a lie down the middle. then i add two long ovals for shoes at the bottom.
Here's a tutorial I quickly drew up that goes over the creation of your character and the very simple and plain basics on drawing them.

Now, that's assuming that you already know how to draw on paper. You say that you want to draw your cartoons in GIMP? The same rules apply. Just keep in mind that drawing on the computer is harder than on paper. If you're talented with your mouse then this should be no problem. Otherwise, get a tablet pen. I use a Wacom Bamboo, although it's a bit glitchy with GIMP, it works fine elsewhere. I here the graphire tablets are good too.

If you want to get into more detail, Walter Foster's Cartooning Books are AMAZING! I own the first one here: http://www.walterfoster.com/catalog/prod...T269&cat=6
