I originally bought one hundred pokemon figures from www.LDUcompany.com but they say there are over 400 different kinds. They have one wholesale lot of 440 at this page http://www.liangdianup.com/inventory/109933.htm

Are there really that many different monsters? Every place I look says a different total number. Even the official pokemon website says a different total then some posters that I have seen. Is this a growing number? Do they even have this cartoon anymore?

The official number is 493, you have a lot to go buddy, yes they still have the cartoon and no this number is not growing at the moment, this may be pokemons last season but we'll see for now it's 493

There's about that many. With the Gold and Silver came 251, Ruby and Sapphire hit 386. Now with Diamond and Pearl they have 493.

And if any more games get released, it'll easily hit 550.

They still have the cartoon, but it's done by Pokémon America now instead of 4Kids and they changed the voice actors.
