So, I have a bit of sad news, my Pocket Pikachu developed a crack in the hinge a few months ago, which has now developed into a full break. As a temporary solution, I have duct taped the broken hinge in the hope I can carry it through the last 100,000 steps of my challenge. But when I woke up this morning I noticed that the second hinge had a hairline crack in it, and I simply cannot risk taking it out attached to my belt anymore, it's too risky. My next step is to attach it to some card to keep it upright, and keep it inside my pocket for the rest of the challenge. Someone on Bluesky suggested this, and it feels like the safest option. If it does break, I at least have the assurance that it won't be lost outside somewhere. I am heading out shortly, so I can see how effective this works. The device is more than 25 years old now. It likely wasn't built to last this long. My hope is that this Pocket Pikachu will see one million steps, and then perhaps I can buy another junk device and swap out the back so it may live on for another adventure somewhere down the line. I know a few users here have a Pocket Pikachu, so I would ask you to check the hinge from underneath. If you see any black lines, consider that your warning!

Two major things I need accountability for and it would be a huge help if any of you can randomly ask me about these things for the next 6 months. Sounds dumb / lame but if I have people asking I am more likely to finish. 1) My Website. It's "done" but a website is never truly done. I have been trying to add a store forever but I keep getting bogged down with other things. PLEASE help me finish. I get asked all the time what I use for this and that, so I thought it would be better to sell those items and get my bag. It's not like it's even a lot of work I just need to get over the finish line. 2) My poetry collection. I decided a year ago I wanted to release a poetry collection because i have been writing for so many years and I think it's time to get SOMETHING out there. 10 months ago I settled on a creative direction so I had photos done and stuff. It's been 9-10 months and I still have not done a single thing with the raw photos (shoutout to my bf though for taking all those photos) I write poetry still, but i haven't finished curating everything I want to include. I wanted it to be half old stuff ive written and half new stuff. everytime I pick this project back up I get busy and im to the point where I need to just power through. Some of the photos are beautiful btw when I get them ill post them in this thread. The scenery is amazing. This is being self published of course. Anyway I wanna be in a good place with both things in like 2 months.

Ghost types! At first it was really due to my taste for horror and gothic aesthetics. I was a very edgy teen, lol. But now I feel a lot of compassion for them, like, I want to take care of them all. Those are my children right there

Considering my favorite Pokemon is Mega Audino, it may not be much of a surprise to say mega evolution :P Removing some biases, I actually don't really like any-- I prefer battles being simple and I don't really enjoy mechanics that it feels you're forced to use. But in that sense, I enjoyed megas because while they did add some things, it was still that Pokemon with a new form and maybe some other new things and it's something I could see working even outside a battle gimmick and I really wish they WOULD find a way to make it a permanent thing. Everything else felt a lot more of a forced gimmick because of how specific their use is. In the same sense, I feel all of them could be combined with mega evolution, but not with the others. I did like some of the cutscenes for the Z-Moves, but I also feel like there were other ways to incorporate that (like stronger bonds with your Pokemon = twists on certain moves). Gigantimax did have some neat forms, but I just... did not care for the giant versions of them in any way and of all of them, felt like the most forced to be used to make like... a giant kaiju battle. I actually do like the tera crystals (I love rocks, again, biases), but not over actual form changes kind of like with Z-Moves, it's something I'd rather see combined in another way.

For a long time, I generally said Water even though if I thought about it, a lot of my favorite's types varied with many in normal (I just tend to lean towards Water starters), but Fairy has absolutely stolen the crown since it became a type. I feel like this is entirely unsurprising if you know my aesthetic :P

Hmm, I have a few types that are my favorite. Mainly it's Dragon, Electric and Psychic types but overall it's Electric.

I think this is going to be wildly predictable, but Grass and Bug are my favorite Pokémon types! I also enjoy Poison, Psychic and Fairy types!

Question of the Week 🌟 I’d love to know, what is your favorite Pokémon type? My absolute favorite type is grass types. I think they’re so pretty and there’s so many strong designs. You’ll usually find 2 grass types on my team (although I try to at least make sure their secondary types are different) I also love collecting cool grass type cards with great art. I know everyone has that one type they gravitate toward, maybe because of the designs, the strategies, or just the overall feel. So I’m curious: what’s your favorite Pokémon type, and what makes it stand out for you?
