So basically, Star Fox is about a crew of mercenary pilots hired by the Galactic Federation. The Federation's own military is spread way too thin, so they bring them in to stop Andross from taking over the galaxy.

As the player, you control Fox and fly his ship, the Arwing. Gameplay-wise, it’s a "rail shooter," which just means your ship is always moving forward on a set path while you blast enemies and dodge obstacles across different planets.

For context, I am a HUGE starfox fan. I never played the originals on the Super Nintendo, but I was a big fan of the N64 version growing up. When I was a little kid I didn't understand there were branching paths you can take, so when I beat the game I thought I was done and man I enjoyed it! I actually played through it a few times and never discovered the branching paths. I suppose I was playing the same way each time.

I never played Starfox Adventures, but I did play through Starfox Assault (I think I was like 10?) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't remember much of it as an adult.

When I played Starfox 64 3D on the 3DS I finally discovered the branching paths and unlocked the true final ending.

Then Starfox zero on Wii U. I love this game & will defend it until the day I die. The #1 complaint about this game is the controls.

It played okay, the only time they became unbearable for me was during the final boss, but the rest of the game it's not that bad if you're used to it. I liked that it wasn't a carbon copy of 64, it was instead a reimagining. New levels, new bosses, stuff plays out in a new way, etc. Although it tells the same story, it doesn't have much else to do with Starfox 64.

Now were here today for Starfox on switch 2 which IS a straight up remake of Starfox 64 in every way. Same levels, same bosses, same level design. . .same everything except this time the game is MUCH prettier. People also hate the new voice cast, but personally I think it's just because people were used to the old voices.

One common complaint is that the game is about two hours long, so people don't feel like they're getting their moneys worth. But completing all 3 paths and getting all the gold medals will take at least 5 hours to do + even then, it's designed to be played multiple times as it is an 'arcade' like experience. Your performance and how many enemies you shoot down are directly tied to your high score.

There is also a brand new online mode that wasn't present in the original release that is A LOT of fun. I wish there were more stages here, but there are 3, each having you do a different objective. The gameplay is very addicting and it's easy to get lost in matches and burn up a lot of time. I think a stand alone splatoon like starfox experience would do quite well because online dog fights are that fun.

I also really enjoyed the new cutscenes that take place between each level. It adds a lot of context and characterisation you just don't see in the previous versions of this story. They're beautifully animated and it's like watching a movie.

If you're on the fence wait for a sale, but at $50-$60, I think its 100% worth it. If I had to score it out of 10, I'd give it an 8.

(I took of points for lack of additional online stages, and although it is a 1:1 remake of 64, I still would have loved to see new single player levels.)

Any predictions or hopes as to what this Nintendo Direct contains? Personally, my biggest hope is a Pokémon Pokopia DLC reveal, but I would also like to see some news from franchises like Pikmin and Animal Crossing.

It's a little bittersweet because the plant race Sylvari will likely not be in the game as they are now, since they historically appeared only 25 years before Guild Wars 2 takes place and Guild Wars 3 will actually take place 1000 years in the past.

A base PS5 will cost $650 while a pro will cost $900

In 2023 you could get a base PS5 for $300ish if you looked enough as it often went on sale.

Nintendo switch 2 has had the biggest console launch of all time and is on its way to surpass 20 million units soon. People are saying the switch is failing because it had a "slow" christmas season, but there's a lot of content missing: everyone had a bad christmas!

People are saying lack of first party content is the reason for the sales slump.

I am very confused because what lack of content?

We got Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong, Legends ZA, Metroid, Hyrule Warriors. . .are we looking at the same line up? and more old games got switch 2 editions. (I am counting ZA since it launched with the switch 2 version available)

That is freaking STACKED! So why are people doom and gloom? Even spring looks good. Pokemon / animal crossing, fire emblem, splatoon (maybe)

If you don't see a game you want yet, nintendo never really reveals games way in advance (other than metroid prime 4) after the February direct the year will look even better.

I guess what I am saying is I don't understand why Nintendo can release 10+ games and its NINTENDOOMED and microsoft & sony can put put 1 or 2 first party games a year and no one says anything. strange!!

So some context. I am a big fan of Kirby, but I never played the original Kirby Air Ride on Gamecube. When it was revealed it peaked my curiosity because it looked so fun. I was wondering what made it different from Mario Kart because certainly Nintendo wouldn't release two similar games so close together? Well in short, Kirby Air Riders introduces combat and it just plays differently. It's like if Smash & MK had a baby. (If you didn't know it's actually developed by Sakurai, you can deff tell in the UI because the vibe is very smash ultimate)

At first I didn't understand how to play. In MK you hold "A" for gas, but in Kirby Air Riders you don't have to hold anything, you just go. You literally steer and press B to boost and use attacks. (You can use Y too for your special move) but the entire game is controlled with these 3 buttons. (The original game was just the two!)

I got pretty good at the game once I fooled around with it enough and understood how it worked.

One of my favorite modes is "road trip" which is the story mode. It never gets boring because what you're doing is constantly changing. Sometimes you're racing, sometimes it's a time trial, soemtimes its a boss battle, or it's totally different. There's a few boss races mixed in too. I haven't fooled around with many of the other modes, but the game is very addicting & the art style is VERY cute.

I have also enjoyed unlocking the characters and discovering the different machines. I hear you can highly customise them, but I haven't dug into that yet.

I am having a lot of fun and highly recommend the game. I need to brush up my skills some before i try to play online. Happy to answer any questions if anyone has any!

Now that he's free maybe sakurais next game is Smash? ;)

I finished all three titles in the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy yesterday. I believe that, along with Pokémon Yellow, these are among the games I've played the most times ever. Every time I play them, I recall all the moments I experienced as a child, along with, of course, the frustration of the aerial circuits that still challenge me even twenty years later 😵‍💫

Furthermore, the skateboarding levels will always be my favourites 🛹

So I wanted to share with you the joy of finally completing all three games 100% for the first time 🏆

It would be wonderful if Activision and Insomniac chose to continue this series, although based on the latest news I've read, it appears there is little hope for it...

Animal crossing - I love how cozy this series is and I am so proud of my town! I am doing renovations right now and adding a pool area, even tho it's almost fall

Splatoon - Addicting. I play all the time! Even more fun now that we can voice chat.

Pikmin - Cozy wouldn't be the right word for a lot of people, but I think it's cozy! and the graphics are soooo beautiful! I feel bad for the little guys when they die :(

I'm kind of disappointed there isn't a Switch 2 release — right now it's only available on the PC, PS5 and Xbox. I have not personally bought it yet but it looks really good and I'm hoping to pick it up at some point.

Wondering if anyone who has started it has any first impressions (no spoilers please) or if anyone is planning on picking it up later like me.

Personally, I did end up pre-ordering because I want to be able to cover any Pokémon news for my website. If I wasn't running PokéJungle, I don't know if I would have picked it up immediately. I actually waited to buy the original Switch until LGPE was announced.

There's also the downside of pre-ordering that you get the only launch color available and, based on historical trend, we'll probably see a Pokémon version released at some point.

Price doesn't matter. One i haven't been able to get into at all is stardew valley so dont recommend that please. The cozier the better :)
