I got an Abernic DS last week & I AM LOVING IT! I will make a separate review thread soon. If you're unfamiliar with Abernic, it's emulation devices. It looks & feels just like a Nintendo DS.

I downloaded Definitive Gold Version so I could play through Gold without the same old thing I have played for years. There's a few differences:

-The difficulty is turned up. It's not that hard, but there is a clear difference. For example, the first gym has an extra pokemon and the levels are higher. (Btw all boss teams are removed & improved)
-New story beats have been included. For example, there was a cutscene with celebi very early on. Couldn't catch it though,
-There's a looot of quality of life improvements modern games have
-All 493 pokemon from gens 1-4 are available and trade pokemon have new evolution methods
-There are a few new areas and a few changes to make the over world more vibrant

I am absolutely loving it so far. It feels like what would have happened if HG/SS got a "third" version. My team so far is

Wooper lvl 17
Togetic lvl 17
Chickorita lvl 19

I wanna encounter oddish soon so wish me luck! I am going to face the second gym soon! I will post an update on my thoughts when I get to the 5th gym, and again when I beat it! I am loving the challenge.

If you wanna dive back into gen 2 without playing the same ol' thing I highly recommend.

Note: I don't wanna tell you how to download so the forum doesn't get in trouble, but it's not difficult to find. I do own the actual cartridge and support the devs constantly! :)

Note 2: Definitive soul silver does not exist! Apparently heart gold is much easier to work with.
