I know it can be a touchy subject for some, we lost Ash and got a whole new cast of characters — but now that there's been some time to watch Liko and Roy's adventure, what are your thoughts?

Personally, I have not watched the anime in many, many years. But since it's available on Netflix, I was curious to see what Horizons was like with the new protagonists. I was actually pleasantly surprised and am enjoying it so far. Made me very nostalgic thinking back to some of the early days of Ash's adventure in the anime.

Curious to hear what others think!

I was concerned that Ash was no longer part of the anime. As someone who grew up watching the first episodes of the series on television as a child, I wasn’t sure how I would respond to a new protagonist, although we can all agree that we couldn't pretend any longer that Ash was still a 10-year-old boy after 25 years 💀

Instead, I must say I like this series! ☺️

Initially, I noticed some dynamics I didn’t like much, such as the protagonist being the stereotypical insecure girl reliant on other people’s opinions of her, and the co-protagonist being the usual kid with no sense of reality (screaming at Rayquaza that you want to battle him with your Fuecoco?!). However, they develop significantly throughout the story, with much deeper messages than in the previous seasons - e.g., the importance of expressing emotions, respecting people's needs, the idea that one can do great things only together with friends and not alone, and so on.

I just saw the first episodes available on Netflix, and for me this anime is a great “yes”!
