I was worried that Ash wasn’t part of the anime anymore. While I consider it to be a good choice after all this time—we couldn’t continue pretending Ash was still a 10-year-old child—as someone who grew up watching the first episodes of the series on television when I was a kid, I didn’t know how I could react to a new protagonist.

Instead, I must say I like this series! ☺️

At the beginning, I saw some dynamics that I didn’t like so much, like the protagonist being the stereotypical insecure girl dependent on other people’s idea of her and the co-protagonist being the usual kid with no sense of reality (screaming at Rayquaza that you want to battle him with your Fuecoco?!). Still, they have a very good evolution throughout the story, with way deeper messages than in the first seasons.

I just saw the first episodes available on Netflix, and for me this anime is a great “yes”! ✨
