Question of the week: You're allowed to add one new evolution to an existing Pokémon. Who gets it?
it's really a shame that as much as i really wanted to use a furfrou in za, i never could because its stats are so.... poor. and yeah, i get that its whole gimmick is the different cuts and it's noteworthy for that, but at the very least give its (hypothetical) evo a similar treatment; different styles for the dog except it's stronger or something, idk. i'm not looking for it to be broken or anything, just... usable. :v

What's your favorite Pokémon and why?
shaymin!! it's been my favourite for years upon years!! unfortunately, having a mythical as my favourite presents the conundrum that i can rarely really have it in the main series games. especially this one. x.x

What's going on with Nintendo
a lot of the switch 2 negativity can be categorized into the following camps: people who really don't like the switch 2 regardless of whatever point you try to make to them, in other words, bad faith actors people who don't like any of the existing first party lineups for one reason or another (gaming is subjective, of course, but "this doesn't appeal to me" isn't the same as "the switch 2 barely has first party games" people who essentially play very specific games such as 3D mario and Zelda, and anything that isn't that in particular is seen as a negative to them (for some reason) people who genuinely aren't aware of the switch 2's first party lineup i feel in the future, we're going to see more and more games being aimed at being exclusive to the nintendo switch 2 instead of a dual release with the switch 1 in order to move consoles. this especially makes me curious what this year's holiday game is going to be.

How much do you think the PS6 will be?
a lot of people have said that nintendo is going to raise their prices and tbh it's been a couple of weeks since the PS5's price increase, but i've yet to see it happen. that isn't to say that it's not possible/won't happen, but it does make me wonder what nintendo is really.... waiting for, if it's a timing thing or what. but regardless, given the current RAM/graphics card situation, i expect the base PS6 to be no less than $700-800. i'm afraid that the era of affordable consoles is over (unless you opt for the nintendo route), and consoles have only been getting more expensive, not cheaper. sony raising the prices of the ps5 can also be interpreted as them testing the waters for what they can get away with for the base ps6 prices. if you're someone who prefers physical medial over digital, you're going to be paying a pretty penny for that given the disc drive editions are more expensive than the digital, so i definitely expect the ps6 with the disc drive to be around $900-1,000. it's not great all around. seems like if one wants powerful hardware for gaming, they're probably better off investing in a new PC. which might be the smarter long-term move given most ps5/xbox games make their way to steam, anyway, it seems.

Question of the Week: Pokémon FireRed or LeafGreen? And are you already planning your team?
currently playing leafgreen! besides my starter, it seems that this run is full of pokemon that i haven't used so far in my prior leafgreen runs, which makes things interesting. so far, my team is: venusaur dodrio starmie omastar marowak flareon a very interesting mix that has been excellent in a variety of situations. i don't mind having double water, it is what it is and i needed to have surf on one for hm reasons and hydro pump on the other. but this has been shaping up to be kind of a fun run, even if... fr/lg are my least favourite remakes , haha.

Do you think we will ever have official Pokemon MMORPG?
Actually, I hadn't thought about the MMORPGification of the main games in the series, you're right! I wonder if we'll see even more elements of this genre of video games in Generation 10 🧐 i hope so! like, are we going to reach a point where there's a mainline game with a full-fledged chat function and all the fancy bells and whistles a mmo typically has? probably not, but i think the core interactive/multiplayer elements are going to get (hopefully) better and better with each game. if that's going to be the case, then that's something i wouldn't mind at all, tbh.

Do you think we will ever have official Pokemon MMORPG?
i would've been more on the "absolutely not" train a couple of years back, but seeing how each and every single mainline game seems to be heading in that direction.... i mean, think about it, really. s/v really was kind of the closest thing you could really get to a mmorpg what with the introduction of union circle. while legends: za is more of a single player game than multiplayer, the elements are still there as far as its pvp is concerned. i think, slowly but surely we're going to inch closer and closer to a mmorpg-like experience in mainline games without it being an actual mmorpg. i think that's probably a stretch, but i do think more multiplayer elements are probably going to be present in mainline games moving forward.
