How much do you think the PS6 will be?

When Nintendo announced the switch 2 at $450, it came as a shock to a lot of people. Including myself. I fully 100% expected $350-$500 due to past precedent.

But it's not only Nintendo raising prices. Sony & Microsoft raised theirs last year and it seems sony is doing it again.

A base PS5 will cost $650 while a pro will cost $900

In 2023 you could get a base PS5 for $300ish if you looked enough as it often went on sale.

I personally think the PS6 will come at around $650-$700, but what do you think?

a lot of people have said that nintendo is going to raise their prices and tbh it's been a couple of weeks since the PS5's price increase, but i've yet to see it happen. that isn't to say that it's not possible/won't happen, but it does make me wonder what nintendo is really.... waiting for, if it's a timing thing or what.

but regardless, given the current RAM/graphics card situation, i expect the base PS6 to be no less than $700-800. i'm afraid that the era of affordable consoles is over (unless you opt for the nintendo route), and consoles have only been getting more expensive, not cheaper. sony raising the prices of the ps5 can also be interpreted as them testing the waters for what they can get away with for the base ps6 prices.

if you're someone who prefers physical medial over digital, you're going to be paying a pretty penny for that given the disc drive editions are more expensive than the digital, so i definitely expect the ps6 with the disc drive to be around $900-1,000.

it's not great all around. seems like if one wants powerful hardware for gaming, they're probably better off investing in a new PC. which might be the smarter long-term move given most ps5/xbox games make their way to steam, anyway, it seems.
