Anyone here using a countertop ice maker at home?

I'm in Burlington and our old fridge ice maker finally quit, so I've been looking at countertop ice makers for the kitchen instead of repairing the fridge line. The models I've come across online vary a lot on daily output, how fast the first batch comes out, and whether the ice stays frozen once it drops into the basket. I'm also unsure about noise in a small kitchen and how much counter space one really takes up. We go through a fair amount of ice in summer, but it's just two of us most of the time. I'd rather not buy something that turns into a slushy puddle by afternoon. If you've used a countertop ice maker at home, how has it held up, and what would you check before buying one?

Thanks for the tips. I came across Best Ice Makers of 2026 https://ratethepick.com/category/ice-makers while comparing output and basket freeze times, though I'm still unsure a small model keeps up for two of us in July.
