Hot Take: the Gold & Silver post game isn’t that great
So anytime anyone mentions why gold and silver is so great one thing always comes up: you get to play two regions in one, the post game is huge! Not really. It’s psychology. You’re playing two small regions instead of one big one. Sinnoh is almost twice the size of Johto, for example. ANNd Kanto is also down sized quite a bit in gold and silver. Do you agree? Disagree? Do you think I’m dead wrong? I’m not saying gold and silver aren’t great games, they are. Among the best in the series.1 point

Things I need accountability for
1 pointTwo major things I need accountability for and it would be a huge help if any of you can randomly ask me about these things for the next 6 months. Sounds dumb / lame but if I have people asking I am more likely to finish. 1) My Website. It's "done" but a website is never truly done. I have been trying to add a store forever but I keep getting bogged down with other things. PLEASE help me finish. I get asked all the time what I use for this and that, so I thought it would be better to sell those items and get my bag. It's not like it's even a lot of work I just need to get over the finish line. 2) My poetry collection. I decided a year ago I wanted to release a poetry collection because i have been writing for so many years and I think it's time to get SOMETHING out there. 10 months ago I settled on a creative direction so I had photos done and stuff. It's been 9-10 months and I still have not done a single thing with the raw photos (shoutout to my bf though for taking all those photos) I write poetry still, but i haven't finished curating everything I want to include. I wanted it to be half old stuff ive written and half new stuff. everytime I pick this project back up I get busy and im to the point where I need to just power through. Some of the photos are beautiful btw when I get them ill post them in this thread. The scenery is amazing. This is being self published of course. Anyway I wanna be in a good place with both things in like 2 months.1 point

I miss Bulbasaur when he was blue
There's one pokemon I can think of whose color has been very inconsistent over the years: bulbasaur. He's blue. . .he's green. . .he's back to blue. . oh wait he's green again. In Go he's VERY green and could be mistaken for being shiny. I am really annoyed because he looks soooo much better with the bluer tone.1 point

Question of the Week: What is your favorite "third" Pokémon game?
Definitely Emerald! Fighting both Team Aqua and Magma improved the story driven conflict drasticly. You feel much more involved in it than just fighting with one team. The added Pokémon animations brought a lot of life into Hoenn as well and don't get me started on the Battle Frontier. Overall probably my favourite game in the entire series.1 point

Question of the Week: What is your favorite "third" Pokémon game?
100% Pokemon Platinum. SOOOOO many memories. I actually have 3 copies of that game. One to play through, one for breeding, and one for competitive (my original saved file) Sooo many late nights playing Platinum. Good times :)1 point

Question of the Week: What is your favorite "third" Pokémon game?
I have the best memories of White 2. I preordered it from GameStop and got a Keldeo poster as a preorder bonus that is sadly lost to time. I have a vivid memory of getting home with the game for the first time and sitting on my floor to play instead of my bed for some reason because I was so excited. Played the crap out of that file, my favorite place in game has gotta be Village Bridge. I ended up losing the cartridge on vacation sadly… still not over that lol1 point

Watercolour Illustrations
1 pointTo accompany the GBA sprite of Cubone, I made a digital illustration of it as well. I think I translated it well. While I was drawing Cubone, Mega Victreebel was announced, so I got to it right after. I had trouble drawing the vine, so I have to practice on that one. While not my favourite design, I can appreciate the goofy appearance of the new Mega.1 point

Pocket Pikachu ⚡️
0 pointsSo, I have a bit of sad news, my Pocket Pikachu developed a crack in the hinge a few months ago, which has now developed into a full break. As a temporary solution, I have duct taped the broken hinge in the hope I can carry it through the last 100,000 steps of my challenge. But when I woke up this morning I noticed that the second hinge had a hairline crack in it, and I simply cannot risk taking it out attached to my belt anymore, it's too risky. My next step is to attach it to some card to keep it upright, and keep it inside my pocket for the rest of the challenge. Someone on Bluesky suggested this, and it feels like the safest option. If it does break, I at least have the assurance that it won't be lost outside somewhere. I am heading out shortly, so I can see how effective this works. The device is more than 25 years old now. It likely wasn't built to last this long. My hope is that this Pocket Pikachu will see one million steps, and then perhaps I can buy another junk device and swap out the back so it may live on for another adventure somewhere down the line. I know a few users here have a Pocket Pikachu, so I would ask you to check the hinge from underneath. If you see any black lines, consider that your warning!0 points
