The 2026 Pokémon World Championships and new Pokémon XP event have now concluded! Even if you weren't able to attend in person, there were top-tier battles to watch online and some new announcements at the end in the closing ceremony.

Curious to hear whether fans tuned in for battles, what they thought and hoping some of our members were able to attend in person!

I was really impressed with the stage they had players on; it was cool that it was basically a giant screen and could display teams or animations based on what it was being used for.

Wish we had seen a new Pokémon Winds and Waves announcement though!

Thanks to timezones and all, I couldn't tune in to worlds, but I tried to catch info about the announcements at least (have yet to actually watch any trailer though); I agree about wishing to hear anything about Winds & Waves. I'd been hoping that we'd get any news, even if just anything more concrete about release time... but I guess if it were to release earlier in the year, they can still start telling us more during the autumn?

This was my first worlds that I could attend, and I’d gone to college in SF so I was somewhat familiar with the area. I also had the chance to go with my best friends who also scored tickets.

Short of full out being cancelled, there was no way for me to NOT adore this trip.

I had a fantastic time even though I could only attend Sunday. Missed out on the pin rally which bummed me out a bit, but tbh I do think the pin rally needs to radically change regardless. Whether that means giving out more pins at badge pick up, having an actual activity to get the pins (instead of just a massive line), or what I’m not sure.

I didn’t get to do any of the interest list items, and while initially disappointed by this there was still lots for me to do Sunday to the point I didn’t get to everything! I spent the entirety of my day at the venue, from 7:20 am until 6:20 (decided to go back to my hotel room to watch the finale, as everywhere at the venue was packed and my travel buddies were worn out).

The news announced didn’t surprise me, they’re definitely saving any WiWa news for a direct (maybe the upcoming Nintendo one…?)

On the whole of it, I have to give the event a 8.5/10.

I may be a bit biased though.
