The duplicate-account problem is the part I keep coming back to. A free drawing costs a bot farm nothing, so unless Walmart can really tie entries to one verified household, scalpers just multiply their odds while a regular collector gets one shot. Website queues at least fail in a way everyone can see. Still, I'd take a lottery over the refresh-and-lose routine, since it removes the speed advantage entirely. The printing question matters too — if supply stays tight, no distribution method fixes the underlying squeeze.

The motion point stands out to me—Elekid's fangs and bounce do read differently once you see it animated, and that's true of a lot of designs that look flat in a menu screen. Toxel is the one I keep coming back to, though. A baby that's basically a grumpy little battery with a whole evolution split built into its nature feels like the most deliberate baby design in years, not just a smaller version of something. Curious whether people rank it above the classics or treat it as too recent to count.
