I read online that Bulbasaur was "blue" in the first anime episodes, but then they decided to make it green to match its type (Grass) and species (frog) 🐸 It's also not the only one to undergo such changes: for example, consider Pikachu's body, which changed from chubby to slim, or Jigglypuff's colour, which shifted from shocking pink to a lighter tone (while being almost white in the first anime episodes)!
