Question of the week: What pokemon town would you move to??
My #1 has to be Fortree City in Hoenn — just imagine living among the trees and being surrounded by green. Mossdeep City, also in Hoenn, would be another great city in the region that I'd like to live in. #2 Mossui Town in Kitakami — I hope this is what heaven looks like. This is the rural Japanese vibes that I love in the real world. #3 would probably be Ecruteak City in the Johto region. Very cool vibes, great autumn foliage. Other cities or towns I'd like to live in, mostly for aesthetic reasons or abundance of nature: Ballonlea, Galar Malie City, Alola Laverre City, Kalos Eterna City, Sinnoh Floaroma Town, Sinnoh I feel like I need to include a city from my favorite region, Unova, but none of them are super exciting to me. Opelucid City would probably be where I'd choose to live there; wouldn't care if it was the futuristic version or past version, both have their charm.

Show off your Pokémon GO catches
Got lucky this morning — caught a hundo Bellsprout (after purification) from a Rocket balloon and hatched a Shiny Torchic from the daily Egg!

Question of the Week: What mobile Pokémon games do you enjoy?
@Zachery I hope Pocket avoids the monetization and anti-player gameplay pitfalls!! @Sakuramei I'm going to have to read this more thoroughly tomorrow, love that you shared so much about these titles!! Very sorry to hear about the lost Magikarp Jump data though :(

Question of the Week: What mobile Pokémon games do you enjoy?
Pokémon used to be a strictly handheld and console affair, but in its three decades mobile games have become a bigger part of the franchise. In part to celebrate Pokémon GO's 10 year anniversary, we're asking fans this week which iOS and Android titles they have enjoyed playing — regardless of whether the game is still available to download! Personally, I log into the current active games regularly: GO, Masters EX, Cafe and Sleep. On a slightly less regular basis I'll also jump into UNITE and TCG Pocket. I also have fond memories of the adorable Magikarp Jump that I wish they expanded and kept providing updates for. I kind of wish they'd bring Pokémon Duel back (you can see the Eevee and Treecko figures in the image above) but maybe in a different form. I didn't find the gameplay overly engaging, but I did like the little 3D figure designs. Want to refresh your memory about Pokémon's mobile titles? You can check out this page on Bulbapedia! Some never even got English releases. Curious to hear your thoughts!

Question of the Week: Are Pokémon games too easy?
I want to add that I actually wouldn't mind the current difficulty so much if they started off with more condensed tutorials. Balance things between showing new or young players the basics while not taking 2-3 hours to get into the actual game.

Question of the Week: Are Pokémon games too easy?
This week I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on the difficulty level of Pokémon games! Opinions on both current and historical difficulty levels are welcome. Overall, I'd personally like to see the main series get a difficulty selection at the start of the game or accessible from anywhere. Usually it feels like any challenging content is locked to specific post-game areas, if it exists, or you have to turn to online competitions. That being said, obviously the series has wide appeal and needs to be accessible to young fans. Pokémon has tried a convoluted key system in Black 2 and White 2 which allowed for Easy and Challenge modes, but it was too much of a pain to use for new games for most players. Sound off below! Do you like things as they are or would you prefer more of a challenge or grind?

Question of the Week: What is your favorite early-route Pokémon?
The Pokémon encountered early on in the main series are some of the most iconic because they're encountered so often. And even though they may be an initial member of your team, they are often replaced because they lack the strength of Pokémon later on. Do you have a favorite? Do you ever keep one of these Pokémon or their evolutions in your team throughout an entire playthrough? Share your thoughts! As expected of me, Sewaddle and its evolutions can be found in most of my teams in games that it is available. I also really enjoyed some of the designs introduced in Gen X, including Nymble, Tarountula and Lechonk! But I also love almost all early route Bug-type Pokémon :)

Nintendo Direct - June 9: Predictions and discussion
Any predictions or hopes as to what this Nintendo Direct contains? Personally, my biggest hope is a Pokémon Pokopia DLC reveal, but I would also like to see some news from franchises like Pikmin and Animal Crossing. It's supposed to be 50 minutes, so there's a lot of room for news tomorrow!

Guild Wars 3 announced!
Besides Pokémon, my other gaming passion is MMOs and I'm very excited for the newly-revealed Guild Wars 3! It's a little bittersweet because the plant race Sylvari will likely not be in the game as they are now, since they historically appeared only 25 years before Guild Wars 2 takes place and Guild Wars 3 will actually take place 1000 years in the past. The GW3 announcement inspired me to jump back into GW2 last night and make a new Mesmer Sylvari though: Curious if anyone else plays GW2 currently or is excited for GW3!

What are you listening to?
I'll have to listen to that Pokémon LoFi :o Been listening to Ariana Grande's new song lately

Question of the Week: What is your favorite console to play Pokémon games on?
This week we're not asking your favorite console, nor the console with the best Pokémon games, but instead which one you enjoy playing Pokémon games on the most. This may be because of form factor, features, portability or nostalgia — let us know what you like playing games on and why! Personally, I think the 3DS is probably my favorite (specifically 3DS XL), because of the size and portability hitting a great sweet spot. I prefer the slide pad to the buttons of the DS. Second might be the Game Boy Advance SP! Classic form factor that was the perfect size for long Pokémon gaming sessions. Conversely, the Switch and Switch 2 feel too delicate in handheld mode and, combined with their cost, don't feel as fun to carry around because there's an element of worry about their safety.

Question of the Week: what Pokémon would make for the most annoying co-worker??
When making the featured image, I kind of included Pokémon that I thought represented archetypes of coworkers that can be hard to deal with: Tyrantrum, the co-worker who flips out about little things Psyduck, the co-worker who never seems to know what's going on Whismur, the co-worker who will never speak up and leaves everything to others Slaking, the co-worker who slacks off constantly Malamar, the co-worker (or worse, manager!) who tries to control and micromanage everything If we're thinking about actual Pokémon species who would be annoying to be next to physically, any of them that are loud, smelly or rambunctious 😅

Question of the Week: What's your favorite Pokémon evolution that was added in a later Generation?
You know, I had somehow forgotten Politoed and Bellossom, love those two as well.
-
Question of the Week: What's your favorite Pokémon evolution that was added in a later Generation?
Some Pokémon get new evolutions — or region-specific evolutions — in later Generations. Scarlet and Violet were the latest games to introduce new evolutions for older Pokémon and included Annihliape, Kingambit, Farigiraf and Dudunsparce. Generation IV also added quite a few new evolutions. Do you have any favorites that added on to the theme of the original Pokémon or took it in a cool new direction? Personally, I really enjoy Dudunsparce, Gliscor, Magmortar and... Leafeon!
